Originally from the Philippines, our owner moved to Australia at a young age and pursued his passion for food by studying Commercial Cookery. He trained mainly in European and Italian cuisine, gaining extensive experience in a variety of kitchens across Melbourne—including other Asian cuisines.
Surprisingly, he never explored Filipino cuisine—his own heritage—until he married a Filipina and fell in love with the bold, comforting flavours of the Philippines. That was the turning point.
Blending years of culinary training with traditional Filipino recipes, he began refining classic dishes—adding technique without losing authenticity. Today, through Pinoy Munchies, he not only celebrates Filipino food but also creates dishes from other cultures, each one infused with a unique Filipino twist.
